How an EPT Pregnancy Test Works and How to Use It

If you suspect that you are pregnant, chances are that you will want to know for sure as soon as possible. The earlier that a woman knows she is pregnant, the better able she is to take the best care of herself and her baby from the earliest possible moment. The good news is that an ept pregnancy test can tell you whether or not you are pregnant as early as four days before your period is due. This means that you can give yourself and your baby the best possible chance for a safe and healthy pregnancy.

How does an EPT Pregnancy Test Work?

An ept pregnancy test works by detecting a hormone in a woman’s urine sample. This hormone is called HCG or human chorionic gonadotropin. This hormone is only found during pregnancy, and can be detected quite early in a pregnancy term. However, for the most accurate results it is best to wait to take an ept pregnancy test the day after you miss your period. It is also best to take the test first thing in the morning, since this urine will yield the highest amount of HCG to test. Your results will come quickly and accurately, up to 99% accurate when done first thing in the morning on the day after you miss your period.

How to Use the EPT Pregnancy Test

Using an ept pregnancy test could not be easier. Simply remove the test stick from its packaging right before you conduct the test, and take off the purple cap to expose the test tip. Hold the stick under your urine stream. It is best to release a bit of urine first before putting the stick into the stream. You can either hold the stick under the stream for five seconds, or place the stick in a clean cup of urine for up to 20 seconds. Once the urine has been absorbed onto the stick, place it on a flat surface and wait two minutes to read your results. At the end of the two minutes, you can read your results. A plus sign on the stick will indicate that you are indeed pregnant, while a minus sign is a negative result.

An ept pregnancy test is easy to use, easy to read, and can be performed as early as four days prior to your missed period. However, for the most accurate results, it is best to wait until your period has been missed, and use your first urine sample of the day for your ept pregnancy test. With the knowledge that you are pregnant early in your pregnancy, you can do much to ensure that your baby grows and develops in the safest and healthiest way possible.
