Modern pregnancy calendars that are being used by midwives and other medical health professionals are scientifically proven so they are more or less accurate. However, babies are known to arrive earlier or later than expected. To accommodate the possible delay or early arrival of babies, doctors and midwives will probably tell you to expect your baby one or more weeks before or after its due date. Most mothers who are having their babies for the first time can expect their babies to arrive earlier than expected and to be plan accordingly. On the other hand, mothers who had their previous babies delivered earlier than expected should not be overly confident that their babies will come earlier than expected again. According to experts, pregnancies vary so one cannot expect to have the same experience as her previous pregnancy.

What should you do when your baby becomes overdue? In the event where your baby becomes overdue more than a week, you need to call the midwife or go to the doctor immediately. Overdue deliveries may cause a lot of distress on the baby.

Chinese Pregnancy Calendars

The Chinese pregnancy calendars are said to predict whether the baby will be a girl or a boy. There are no scientific explanations so far about this claim but many people who have tried using the Chinese calendars claimed that they were able to successfully predict whether they will have a baby girl or boy.

How do the Chinese pregnancy calendars work? The Chinese calendar matches the age of the woman with the date of her pregnancy.
